Adaptive Testing with Equated Number-Correct Scoring
نویسنده
چکیده
A constrained computerized adaptive testing (CAT) algorithm is presented that automatically equates the number-correct scores on adaptive tests. The algorithm can be used to equate number-correct scores across different administrations of the same adaptive test as well as to an external reference test. The constraints are derived from a set of conditions on item response functions that guarantees the observed number-correct score distributions on two forms to be identical (W. van der Linden and R. Luecht, 1998). An item pool from the Law School Admission Test is used to compare the results of the algorithm with those for traditional observed-score equating of ability estimates to number-correct scores as well as the transformation to predicted number-correct scores through the test characteristic function. The effects of the constraints on the statistical properties of the ability estimator are examined. (Contains 18 references, 4 figures, and a list of University of Twente research reports.) متن کاملIntroducing a Non-Dichotomous Method for Scoring Selected-Response Tests
The main purpose of this study was to introduce a new non-dichotomous scoring procedure for the multiple-choice test method, called Parledge. The research also aimed to determine Parledge characteristics through a psychometric study comparing it with the “Number Correct” and “Correction for Guessing” scoring methods. There were 35 students participating in the study who were given a vocabulary ...
متن کاملNusselt Number Estimation along a Wavy Wall in an Inclined Lid-driven Cavity using Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS)
In this study, an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) was developed to determine the Nusselt number (Nu) along a wavy wall in a lid-driven cavity under mixed convection regime. Firstly, the main data set of input/output vectors for training, checking and testing of the ANFIS was prepared based on the numerical results of the lattice Boltzmann method (LBM). Then, the ANFIS was develope...
متن کاملIntroducing a Clustering Step in a Consensus Approach for the Scoring of Protein-Protein Docking Models
Correctly scoring protein-protein docking models to single out native-like ones is an open challenge. It is also an object of assessment in CAPRI (Critical Assessment of PRedicted Interactions), the community-wide blind docking experiment. We introduced in the field the first pure consensus method, CONSRANK, which ranks models based on their ability to match the most conserved contacts in the e...
متن کامل[Equating scores using bridging stations on the clinical performance examination].
PURPOSE This study examined the use of the Tucker linear equating method in producing an individual student's score in 3 groups with bridging stations over 3 consecutive days of the clinical performance examination (CPX) and compared the differences in scoring patterns by bridging number. METHODS Data were drawn from 88 examinees from 3 different CPX groups-DAY1, DAY2, and DAY3-each of which ...
